By the spring of 1962 quite a few changes take place. Robert E Lee leaves KTKT. He is replaced by Mike Hunter - who takes over the 9 am to noon program. Jay Lawrence leaves and his noon to 3 pm show is filled by former overnight man Jerry Stowe. Lee Smith also leaves the KTKT line up. Taking his place from 9 pm to midnight is Tim Parker. Another new face (voice) Cleb Maddux joins KTKT to do the overnight shift that was vacated by Jerry Stowe. So by mid summer here is how the KTKT line up looked.

The next change to the KTKT line up happens rather soon on the overnight shift. By late summer or the very early fall of 1962 Cleb Maddux leaves KTKT. Hi Garrett becomes the new midnight man. The fall of 1962 marks a major milestone for Tucson broadcast history and KTKT. Ray Lindstrom comes on board joining KTKT to take over the weekend and other fill in DJ shifts at KTKT. The previous weekend warrior Doug Stevens departs KTKT to work for KFIF AM 1550 and its new program director Ernie Davis. Ernie has put a new top 40 format called “Tiger Radio” in place at KFIF. KFIF has 50,000 watts but can broadcast only during the daylight hours. After six or seven weeks KFIF runs out of money and goes dark. After an ownership reorganization and license reassignment KFIF returns to the air April 1963 with a different staff and a different format.
